Tuesday evening saw Winchester City run out emphatic 5-0 winners over Bracknell Town with manager, Craig Davis, praising the work-rate of his team.
“We were excellent,” he told his club’s media. “Our energy and endeavour, particularly in central midfield, was outstanding.
“We put balls into good areas and the effort and desire was first class. The mileage that we clocked up in midfield was ridiculous and our opponents simply couldn’t cope with us.
“It was an enjoyable performance to watch; the lads didn’t stop working and I am as delighted with the clean sheet as much as the five goals.
“We defended like Trojans and we fully deserved our victory.
“Our target is to improve on what we did last season and we’re on course to do that as it stands.”
The win moved the club up to tenth in the Pitching In Southern League Premier South table as they prepare for another home game at the weekend with the visit of Didcot Town.
