Bideford head into Saturday’s home encounter with Mousehole on the back of six straight wins in the Pitching In Southern League Division One South to sit fourth in the table.
It is in stark contrast to last season when they found themselves battling it out at the wrong end of the table.
The Robins were recognised by winning the PST Sport Club of the Month award for December and long-serving manager, Seam Joyce, admits that he has a spring back in his step this season.
“It’s been good to just be able to take the shackles off this season and play with a young and talented group of players who continue to give me everything they’ve got,” he told us. “I’m really enjoying it and relish each challenge that comes our way.
“Getting recognition with the Club of the Month award shows how well things are going and it’s nice to get the plaudits, but our ethos of just taking things one game at a time remains. The next game is always the most important.
“We face another tough test on Saturday, but it’s about what we do and we’ll be making sure that we reach the standards that we have set and continue doing the right things.”
