EXMOUTH TOWN | BATH TIME

Front-man looking to go on a positive run

Exmouth Town are hoping that Saturday will be a seminal day in their bid to climb away from the danger zone in the Pitching In Southern League Division One South.

Two goals from Tom Bath, including a spot-kick to end their run of missed penalties, saw them triumph 2-0 at Devon rivals, Tavistock.

It gave them their third win of the season to claw them a little closer to the group of teams above them in the table.

“I was very pleased to be able to contribute to the win with a couple of goals,” said Bath, who joined the club earlier in the season from Tiverton Town. “The main thing, though, was the result and the three points.

“We must now try to get a string of results together to get the club moving up the table.

“We’re working hard to try and do that; the players are determined and giving everything.

“There are no easy games in this League, it’s extremely competitive but I am enjoying the challenge. I have been brought here to score goals and I will always give my all to try and help the club succeed to the best of my abilities.

“I’m not one to set personal targets, I just want Exmouth Town to stay in this division and that’s what we are all working to achieve.”

As the club look for their first home win of the season, they face successive home games, starting with the visit of Bishops Cleeve on Saturday and then Yate Town the week after.
