It just shows what an intriguing competition the Pitching In Southern League Division One South is as Larkhall Athletic responded to a heavy 5-0 defeat at the hands of a struggling Exmouth Town by securing a commanding 5-1 success against high-flying Cribbs in their next game.
Wednesday’s victory saw five different players get their name on the scoresheet in what was a commanding performance all over the pitch from Ollie Price’s side who now sit just four points off the play-off places and with games in hand on a lot of the teams around them.
“The response from the team was magnificent,” said Price. “To beat opponents that went into the game having only lost three times all season so convincingly was great to see and obviously the three points that came with it were also most welcome!
“It was nice to have a full team to pick from, something that we’ve not had the luxury of all season.
“It shows how strong we can be and hopefully we’ll be able to continue this over the final weeks of the season that lie ahead.
“Saturday’s another big game for us as we head to a very good Bemerton Heath Harlequins outfit. They will be looking to bounce back from a heavy defeat themselves but hopefully we can take our momentum from Wednesday forward and produce another strong display.”
