In our Pitching In Southern League Division One Central game of the day, Biggleswade Town were able to move to just one point off the leaders courtesy of a good 4-1 away win at play-off hopefuls, Cirencester Town.
They went into a two-goal first half lead thanks to Jack Morrell and Rhys Hoenes and although Harry Burns reduced the arrears at the start of the second half, another Morrell goal and a further strike from Harry Draper made it a deserved three points.
Currently sitting in the play-off places, both Ware and North Leigh lost. An early Josh Davis strike was enough to condemn Ware to a 1-0 reverse at Kidlington, whilst Gabriel Ward bagged a brace to give Kempston Rovers a much-needed 2-0 triumph at North Leigh and in doing so give their survival hopes a boost.
Now sitting at the foot of the table is Thame United who were dealt a late blow at AFC Dunstable having taken the lead through Oliver Hogg. It was Arnold Matshazi who levelled before Yoav Sade Lichtenfeld came up with a last-minute winner for the home side to give them a 2-1 win.
The day’s other game proved to be entertaining as Leighton Town went two goals up against Hertford Town within the opening 20 minutes thanks to Luke Pyman and Jake Watkinson. Their opponents hit back through Brian Garzon before the interval but Finley Jaggard restored their two-goal advantage. Erald Memaj bagged a mere consolation late on as it finished 3-2.
