BRACKNELL TOWN | ALWAYS LEARNING

Learning curve for Ethan Burden

Every day is a school day for Ethan Burden. Even though the accomplished right-sided defender has recently broken through the 100-appearance milestone for Bracknell Town, the learning never stops.

“It’s fair to say that it’s been a season of learning for me,” admitted the 24 year-old. “There have been various situations crop up over the course of the campaign such as manager changes, players leaving, changes behind-the-scenes and set-backs where I’ve not been playing as much as I wanted to.

“But it’s all part of shaping me into the player that I am; you can take something positive and learn from every situation and I have made sure that I’ve done that.

“I’ve faced every challenge head-on and I am proud to have joined the 100 Club here. It shows consistency in what is a very tough League; the growth we have gone through together over the past couple of seasons is amazing and hopefully it will continue.

“My first season ended in promotion into this level and then last season we managed to finish second and reach the play-offs, which is no mean feat, and hopefully this progression can continue both for me personally and the team collectively.

“As it stands, we’re just four points off the play-off places. It’s such an open division and there are still a large number of teams who fancy their chances of being involved in the play-offs.

“We’re very much part of that and I want to be able to play my part in a strong finish. These are exciting times for the club and we’re looking forward to what the future holds in store under a new Chairman next season.”

Burden is enjoying life playing under manager, Jordan Ive.

"He was one of my first-ever managers at the age of ten," he revealed. "Now 14 years later, I am playing under him again and I couldn't be happier.

"He came into the club when it was probably at its most vulnerable with players leaving and the team breaking up, but he has got a hold of things and if anything has made the bond even stronger. The great work that he has done since the turn of the year should not be under-estimated."

The Robins face a home Pitching In Southern League Premier South encounter with Plymouth Parkway on Saturday.
