Former FA Premier League front-man, Leroy Lita, is back in the Pitching In Southern League having signed for Barwell.
The 39 year-old will be looking to shoot the club into the top half of the Premier Central table having renewed acquaintances with manager, Jimmy Ginnelly.
“I know Jimmy well,” Lita told his club’s media. “I’ve worked with him before and I like the way in which he gets his teams to play football and the way he manages his players.
“I feel that it will help to get the best out of me in what are the latter stages of my career, so I am delighted to be able to link up with him again.
“I’ve played against Barwell a few times and I know that they have some talented lads here. They are also a well-run club behind-the-scenes, so it’s a nice environment to come and be part of.
“At my age, I just want to enjoy my football and get as many minutes as possible, I feel that I will be able to do that here.
“If my experience and know-how can help the younger lads around me, then that will be great. They’ve done well this season, but if I can give them a little to push to help get the best out of them, I will be very happy.
“Hopefully we can end the season strongly and accumulate as many points as we can over this final run of games.”
Saturday sees Barwell play host to Royston Town.
