In the Pitching In Southern League Division One Central, Biggleswade Town moved five points clear at the top following a 2-0 victory over Kings Langley.
Early goals from Luke Andrews and Harry Draper did the damage as their impressive form continues.
Meanwhile Bedford Town are having a dip in fortunes and they let a two-goal lead slip to go down 4-2 at Ware. A double from Leon Lobjoit within the opening 20 minutes appeared to put them in the driving seat, but the hosts had other ideas as Alex Warman got them back in it and then a quickfire brace from Jon Clements at the start of the second period had them in front. Theophilus Ofori rounded things off late on as Ware sit third.
Just below them, AFC Dunstable had a first half goal from Arnold Matshazi to thank for their 1-0 victory over an in-form Welwyn Garden City, whilst Waltham Abbey recovered from falling behind within the opening two minutes to beat Stotfold 2-1 and keep up their charge. Henry Snee had given the visitors the lead only for Prince Domafriyie to restore parity midway through the opening period. The winner came from Jason Hallett.
Falling into the bottom two are Kidlington after they lost 1-0 at home to the team who have jumped over them, Kempston Rovers. A goal from Lauric Diakiesse right on half-time proved to be the difference.
It was a good day for bottom of the table Thame United as they won too. Second half strikes from Harry Alexander and Eitel Moumi Goueth gave them victory at Biggleswade.
A goal in each half from David Pearce and David Lynn gave Aylesbury United a 2-0 triumph over North Leigh, whilst Hadley are also celebrating three points after goals from Isaac Stones, Billy Hayes and Luke Alfano, all in the first half, gave them a 3-1 victory over Hertford Town, for whom Lanrewaju Balogun pulled a goal back early in the second period.
The day’s other game ended with honours even between two teams who still have play-off aspirations in Cirencester Town and Leighton Town. Louie Barrett gave the visitors the lead but Reegn Messenger delivered an equaliser five minutes later. Albie Hall then restored the visitors’ lead on the half-hour mark and that was cancelled out as the interval approached by Harry Burns. That was to be the end of the scoring.
