PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE PREMIER CENTRAL | MONDAY REVIEW

All the latest action

The Bank Holiday Monday action in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central saw leaders, Needham Market, march on with a commanding 3-0 victory over AFC Sudbury.

Adam Mills set the Marketmen on their way before Seth Carroll-Chambers doubled the lead in first half stoppage time. The scoring was complete with 20 minutes to go when Dylan Williams found the net.

There was a hard-earned 1-0 triumph for second-place Mickleover as Tyrell Waite’s goal on the hour-mark proved to be the difference against Coalville Town.

A dramatic late winner gave AFC Telford United a 2-1 win at Bromsgrove Sporting. Nathan Blissett gave the home side the lead against his former club before Remi Walker equalised on the stroke of half-time. Jared Hodgkiss was the hero with an 86th minute winner.

Stratford Town are fourth thanks to first half strikes from Callum Ebanks and Paul McCone which beat in-form Kettering Town. The Bards were able to leapfrog Leamington who were not in action.

The fall of Redditch United continues as they lost at home to Stourbridge with Kian Ryley getting the only goal of the game in the fourth minute. Just below them, Stamford returned to winning ways with a good 4-1 triumph at St. Ives Town. It was the hosts who went ahead through Jake Hutchings but within two minutes, Lee Shaw had levelled and then shortly afterwards Jack Duffy turned the scoreline on its head. Late goals from Michael Armstrong and another from Duffy added extra gloss.

Also winning away were Hitchin Town, who secured a long-awaited and much-needed three points courtesy of a 2-1 victory at already-relegated Berkhamsted. Finley Wilkinson put Hitchin ahead only for Max Bustamante MacAire to cancel it out. The winner came from Connor Vincent as the clock ticked down.

A 3-0 defeat at Barwell sees Long Eaton United relegated. George Ward opened the scoring before second half strikes from Tristan Dunkley and Leroy Lita gave the hosts a commanding triumph.

There was just one goal in it at Halesowen Town where a Luke Redfern goal ten minutes from time was enough to see them overcome Alvechurch, whilst the day’s other game saw Royston Town beat Leiston 4-2. The home side went ahead through Andronicos Georgiou, but parity was restored through George Quantrell and then Jamar Loza put Leiston ahead. Edward Asafu-Adjaye levelled the scores and within three minutes, Daniel Baulk turned the game back in favour of the hosts, who sealed the points through Alfie Williams.
