In the Pitching In Southern League Division One Central, Biggleswade Town are back at the top of the table as they beat Leighton Town 1-0.
It took a goal from Jonathan Lacey just past the half-hour mark to give them the victory as Ware moved up into second place with a 2-0 triumph over Kidlington thanks to second half goals from Jon Clements and Theo Ofori.
There was drama at Thame United as AFC Dunstable had to settle for a share of the spoils from a 3-3 draw. All was going well when Kyle Brooks out the visitors ahead with barely two minutes on the clock. The evergreen Jefferson Louis levelled as half-time approached but there was still time for Ben Weyman to put the visitors back in front.
The second period saw a second for Weyman with 12 minutes to go put AFC Dunstable in the driving seat only for Ryan Knight to bag a brace in the final eight minutes to level the scores.
The other play-off places are currently taken by Bedford Town, who were without a game, and Waltham Abbey who were held to a goalless away draw at Barton Rovers.
Of the teams just outside the play-off zone, Welwyn Garden City roared to a 6-1 triumph over Kings Langley. Dernell Wynter set them on their way before Gucci Soulya-Osekanongo doubled their advantage soon afterwards. Lynton Goss added a third at the end of the opening period before the visitors pulled a goal back soon after the restart through Jorell Johnson.
A second goal from Wynter increased the hosts’ lead and then he completed his hat-trick in the 87th minute before Henry Jones weighed in with a sixth goal deep into stoppage time.
Another team well amongst the goals was Aylesbury United who came home from Kempston Rovers 5-0 victors. David Pearce scored the only goal of the first half before Hayden Beadle and Thomas Cove hit quickfire strikes with just under 20 minutes to go. Brayden Daniel and Derek Feyi then completed the scoring in the closing exchanges.
Also winning away were Stotfold as a Henry Snee hat-trick gave them a 3-1 triumph at Hertford Town for whom Morgan Mahoney cancelled out Snee’s early opener.
The day’s other game ended level as Biggleswade FC and Cirencester Town played out a 1-1 draw. Josh Keyes unlocked the home defence to give the visitors the lead on 12 minutes before Harry Dawson levelled later in the opening period.
North Leigh’s home game against Hadley was a victim of the wet weather.
