There’s going to be plenty of drama across all four of our divisions on Saturday as the regular season comes to a close.
In the Pitching In Southern League Division One South, Wimborne Town and Frome Town battle it out for the title.
Going into the weekend, Wimborne sit two points ahead having failed to clinch the title on Tuesday evening as they succumbed to a 3-2 stoppage time defeat at Tavistock.
It was a game which saw them take the lead only for their hosts to come back and get in front. Even a last-minute equaliser from Harry Baker wasn’t enough for them.
“It was very disappointing,” manager, Tim Sills told his club’s media at the end. “Particularly as we managed to get ourselves in front after 15 minutes, but our decision-making was off compared to what it has been this season.
“We’ll use this as a learning experience to take into the weekend. Luckily, we have given ourselves two bites at it and now we need to take a big bite on Saturday.
“There is lots for us to learn in how to approach the game and our mentality during the game. We have to learn quickly and get ourselves into the best possible shape for the weekend.
“We’re going to need our fans right behind us, as they have been all season, to suck the ball into the net and give the players that extra 5-10% which could make all of the difference.”
It’s an away trip to a Melksham Town outfit that sit in the lower half of the table for Wimborne Town, whilst rivals, Frome Town, are at home to play-off hopefuls, Bristol Manor Farm.
