There’s a new man at the Plymouth Parkway helm following the appointment of Chris McPhee.
The 41 year-old has spent the past decade coaching within the Exeter City Academy following a playing career that took in the likes of Brighton & Hove Albion, Torquay United, Ebbsfleet United and Kidderminster Harriers amongst others.
“I want to take this club on a journey,” McPhee told his club’s media. “But we can’t afford to carry passengers; we need everyone on the same page and giving everything they’ve got to give this club the best possible chance to progress.
“It’s a privilege for me to be given this opportunity. I’ve spent the past decade working within academy football, which I have thoroughly enjoyed, but the prospect of working in men’s football, fighting for the three points and trying to outwit your opponents is something that I am excited to get in to.
“This is the ideal time to make that leap; it’s a different environment but I am looking forward to the challenge.
“I have seen how this club has progressed through the levels over the years and there are some fantastic foundations in place here both on and off-the-pitch. It’s an attractive proposition and I want to be able to continue taking the club forward.
“There are some talented players already here and I want to use my background in player development to help in their progression and develop a professional feel and identity.
“I will embrace everyone’s contribution as we prepare for the battles ahead in the Pitching In Southern League Premier South.”
