EXMOUTH TOWN | MAKING MOVES

Louis Morison is relishing the campaign ahead

Having worked hard to preserve their Pitching In Southern League Division One South status last term, Exmouth Town, are making moves to ensure that they won’t find themselves in a similar situation during the campaign ahead.

After Dave Pearse confirmed that he will be staying with the club as joint manager with the long-serving Kevin Hill, alongside assistant manager, Andy Rawlings, a number of new signings have also agreed to join the club as well as key members of last season’s squad that helped to bring an upturn in fortunes.

One such player is former Exeter City professional, Louis Morison. He first arrived during the autumn from Tiverton Town and his higher-level experience and know-how soon proved a key ingredient as results began to improve.

He departed the club towards the end of the season to head to Australia, but is now back and determined to pick up from where he left off at the Circle of Care Community Stadium.

“I am very pleased to commit to Exmouth Town for the season ahead,” he told us. “It’s time for me to knuckle down and push on now to help the team move up the table, where I feel we belong.

“I am ready for the challenge ahead; I’m hoping for a better season for myself personally, one where I can play to my full potential on a consistent basis.

“I want to be able to keep my standards high and try as hard as I can to make a difference to the team.

“It was nice to see the boys dig in and stay up after I decided to move to Australia. Credit to everyone involved because it took a lot of hard work and determination and now we have to look to build on the momentum that we were able to gain towards the end of the campaign.

“The League is going to be very competitive once more. It’s nice to see a couple more Cornish teams join and generally looking at the clubs involved, it’s going to be a very hard season, but one that we feel we can do well in with what we have here.”

Pictured we see Morison alongside Joe Belsten, another player who came in last season and made an impact and has committed for the campaign ahead.
