Havant & Waterlooville have returned to the Southern League after an absence of exactly 20 years.
The Hampshire outfit have spent the past two decades in Steps 1 and 2, with the exception of a season in the Isthmian League in 2016/17, and hope to get back from where they came at the first time of asking.
Though, experienced Head Coach, Shaun North, is only too aware of how tough the Pitching In Southern League Premier South will be to navigate, but preparations are going well.
“Things are going really well,” he told his club’s media. “We’ve come through it so far without too many bumps or bruises.
“The players have applied themselves extremely well; we’ve had a couple of good work-outs so far and week-by-week, game-by-game we have seen an improvement, which is all you can ask.
“There will be set-backs but at this stage you have the opportunity to rectify them and put things right.
“There is still a lot of work to do and a lot of detail to get into the players ahead of the new season.
“The intensity has been there and long may this continue as we step things up so that we are ready to hit the ground running when the season gets underway.”
