A brace from Josh Webber helped Bideford on their way to a 3-0 pre-season friendly victory over Plymouth Parkway earlier this week.
It was an impressive showing from the Pitching In Southern League Division One South outfit against higher-level opposition as their preparations for the new season continue to go well.
“Things are progressing along nicely,” Webber told us. “The squad has really bought in to the system that the Gaffer has put in place.
“It’s also paying off on a personal level too as I go into this season feeling much fitter than I usually would be.
“It was nice to get a couple of goals recently; I just want to get going now and take this form into the season.
“After only joining the club halfway through last season, I am looking forward to getting a full campaign under my belt and helping the club push for a play-off spot.
“The League is going to be physical and strong this year as there are a lot of teams who have added good players to their squad, so it’s going to be competitive.”
Bideford get their League campaign underway with a trip to Bishops Cleeve on Saturday, August 10th, but before that they have Emirates FA Cup business to contend with as they host Bridgwater United in the Extra Preliminary Round on August 3rd.
