BRISTOL MANOR FARM | HOMECOMING

Talented local lad joins Louis Britton joins the Manor Farm journey

Pitching In Southern League Division One South outfit, Bristol Manor Farm, have made another statement of intent with the signing of talented front-runner, Louis Britton.

The 23 year-old returns to his home city from Maldon & Tiptree to spearhead Manor Farm’s promotion bid having reached the play-offs last season.

It was his form for Brislington and Mangotsfield United at the start of his career that earned him a dream move to Bristol City in 2019 and his Championship debut for the club saw him find the net against Brentford in May 2021 just 15 minutes after entering the action off the bench.

Since then, he has served the likes of Cork City and Chorley as well as having a number of loan spells, but now he is back on home territory and looking forward to being part of an exciting project.

“I am incredibly excited about the challenge ahead,” he told us. “Joining the club presents a fantastic opportunity for me to keep growing as a player and to contribute to a fantastic team and passionate fan base.

“I am looking forward to working with the coaching staff and my new team-mates to achieve our goals this season.

“What convinced me that this was the right move was a combination of factors. Firstly, the clubs vision aligns perfectly with my ambitions as a player. Additionally, conversations with the manager assured me that I would have the opportunity to play a key role and make a significant impact on the pitch.

“Finally, the passion and support we get from our fan base played a big part in my decision and I am eager to give my best every time I step on to the field.”

Britton knows that he will be entering a highly-competitive League as the club looks to build upon its fourth-place berth last time out.

“It’s going to be an exciting and competitive season,” Britton added. “The race for promotion and the play-offs will be intense, just as it was last season.

“We have a strong squad, there is no doubt about that, and the impact of key players and new signings will be crucial.

“Local derbies will also add extra spice to the fixtures and there are some big games to look forward to. I want to be a positive influence on and off-the-pitch and weigh in with goals and assists to help us achieve our collective ambitions.

“There’s no reason why I can’t aim for 30+ goals; I’ll be giving it everything I’ve got to contribute to the team’s success. I’ll also look to stay positive and focused even at the times when things maybe aren’t going the way I want them to, as sometimes happens over the course of a long, hard season.”

Bristol Manor Farm start the 2024/25 season with a home game against Melksham Town on Saturday, August 10th.
