WILLAND ROVERS | THE ROAD TO SUCCESS FOR DOROTHY

Birthday brace for summer signing

It was a Birthday to remember for Harvey Dorothy as the talented front-runner started his competitive Willand Rovers career with a brace to see them make Emirates FA Cup progress at the expense of AFC St. Austell.

The now 20 year-old has stepped up to the Pitching In Southern League Division One South following some impressive displays at Step 5 last term as he helped Barnstaple Town reach the play-offs.

Now he is looking forward to testing his ability at the higher level, starting on Saturday with the visit of Bemerton Heath Harlequins.

“It was nice to mark my debut with a couple of goals,” Dorothy told Leon Brooke. “The fact that it came on my Birthday made it extra special and it was the best gift I could have had.

“We’ve worked hard over the past three or four weeks and I’m feeling sharp. Hopefully I can take this into the busy run of games ahead.

“It’s going to be a tough opening League game at the weekend. This is a new environment for me and I am looking forward to testing myself at this level.

“As a group we’re ready for it; we’ll be looking to get a run of positive results together early on and take things from there.

“It’s about finding a level of consistency and continuing to do the right things. If we can do that, it will give us something to build upon.”
