Having recently joined the 100 Club at Leverstock Green, Lewis Collins is hoping to be able to help the club push on in their first season in the Pitching In Southern League Division One Central.
The likeable front-man is a product of the club’s youth ranks and a popular figure at Pancake Lane.
“It’s a nice feeling to reach 100 games and I am extremely proud, especially as I have come up through the ranks here,” he told us. “I probably should have reached this milestone sooner, but I got there in the end!
“I’d say that it has been a very up and down season for us so far. We’ve played well at times in some games and we have probably deserved more in terms of points on the board. To concede an equaliser so late on Saturday against Beaconsfield Town was a blow, but we are learning all of the time.
“The quality of this level is obviously a lot higher than we have been used to, but we have a good group here and we are more than capable of competing. Hopefully I can kick-on and get as much game time as possible and be able to contribute with goals and assists.
“Securing our place at this level has to be our main aim first and foremost. Then once we’ve done that, there is no reason why we can’t look at making it into the top ten.
Collins and his team-mates hit the road on Bank Holiday Monday as they head to Barton Rovers.
