Goalkeeper, Tyler McGregor, recently became the first Real Bedford player to make 100 appearances for the club.
He first arrived at the club during the summer of 2022 and has played a big part in their progression ever since with some reliable displays and 54 clean sheets, the latest of which came on Tuesday evening as they were held to a goalless home draw by Leighton Town.
With only nine goals conceded and 46 scored in their opening 14 League games, The Pirates sit pretty at the top of the Pitching In Southern League Division One Central table in what is their first taste of life at this level.
“I’ve seen a lot of people come and go since I’ve been here,” McGregor told his club’s media. “I’ve enjoyed every minute of it; there have been a couple of titles and a few cups along the way and I am determined to add more this season.
“We’ve put ourselves into a good position. We’re just taking things one game at a time, though, as we know that there is plenty of football still to be played.
“I am enjoying the challenge at this level. I’ve saved a couple of penalties, made a few good saves and the lads at the other end of the pitch have been doing the business too, so it’s going well, but, as I say, we won’t get too far ahead of ourselves.
“I’ve made plenty of memories over the past couple of years here and hopefully there are many more to come.”
Real Bedford have to wait until a week on Saturday when they return to action with a home game against fellow high-flyers, Hadley.
