POOLE TOWN | INSTANT IMPACT

New-boy hits the ground running

Ezio Touray wasted little time in making his mark at new club, Poole Town.

In fact, it took the former Watford man just 14 minutes to open his scoring account for the Dolphins as he set them on their way to a good 3-1 away win at another of his previous clubs, Basingstoke Town, last weekend.

“To get a goal on my debut was amazing,” he told his club’s media after the game. “Everyone is buzzing and it’s given my confidence a big boost.

“I felt that I slotted into the team straight away. We played some nice stuff and it felt good being part of it.

“I know that we went into the game on the back of two successive 3-1 defeats, so I was happy to be able to help us get the result in our favour this time and now the aim is to get a run of results together.

“We have a couple of consecutive home games coming up now and we need the fans right behind us as they were at Basingstoke. They have a really important role in what we are trying to do here.”

Touray moved to England from Italy to join up with the Reading academy. He then had spells with Reading City and Basingstoke Town, where his prowess in front of goal earned him a move to Watford following a successful trial.

He has made his move into the Pitching In Southern League Premier South from Weymouth, for whom he hit 13 goals in all competitions last term.

Poole Town play host to Hungerford Town on Saturday as Touray prepares to make his home debut.
