Another weekend of great action is upon us, both in the Pitching In Southern League and the Isuzu FA Trophy, which reaches the second round stage.
Here is our pick of the League action:
DORCHESTER TOWN v MERTHYR TOWN | PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE PREMIER SOUTH
This encounter pits fourth and against first. The home side have lost just three times in their opening 15 League games, however they are three games without a win having drawn their last two outings, including a 2-2 draw at Gosport Borough on Wednesday evening, and lost the other. They play host to opponents who have been in a rich vein of scoring form, with an impressive 24 goals from their last six League games, all of which have ended in victory.
KETTERING TOWN v BEDFORD TOWN | PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE PREMIER CENTRAL
The home side are in good form with eight successive League wins, including Tuesday’s 3-1 away triumph at AFC Telford United, plus they have an Emirates FA Cup second round tie to look forward to in a couple of weeks. The latest team trying to stop them are Bedford Town who started the season strongly following promotion but have lost three of their last four games, including a 3-0 home reverse at the hands of St. Ives Town in their last outing, as they look to keep in touch with the leading pack.
EVESHAM UNITED v HELSTON ATHLETIC | PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE DIVISION ONE SOUTH
The hosts have recovered from a poor spell by picking up four points from their last two League games to leave them just outside the top five and they will be aiming to continue building momentum as they face opponents who sit third and responded with victory in their last game having suffered only their second defeat of the season in their previous League outing. Both teams have played some good football this season with the visitors adapting well to life at this level.
BARTON ROVERS v KINGS LANGLEY | PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE DIVISION ONE CENTRAL
Having started the season slowly, the home side are now sat just outside the play-off places following a six-game unbeaten run that has included 3-0 wins in each of their last two away games, at Beaconsfield Town last weekend and high-flying Flackwell Heath prior to that. They face opponents who are looking to keep in touch with the leading pack. They have lost two and drawn two of their last four League games, including a 1-1 home draw with AFC Dunstable last weekend, so they will be eager to get back into winning ways.
There are also some mouth-watering ties in the Isuzu FA Trophy and we wish all of our member clubs well.
