LARKHALL ATHLETIC | FINDING FORM

The Division One South club have a spring in their step

A run of just one defeat from their last eight Pitching In Southern League Division One South games has put a spring into the step of Larkhall Athletic as they look to break into the top half of the table.

Their latest action saw them run out commanding 3-0 winners at Cinderford Town last weekend in a game which saw Harvey Pritchard weigh in with two goals.

Like the team, the 22 year-old front-man feels that he is now starting find some form.

“We’ve had quite a few new faces come in since last season and it did take us a few games to gel,” he admitted to us. “But performances and results have gradually started to improve and as the momentum starts to really build, we’re all enjoying it.

“It’s a similar story for my own form. It was a slow start to the season for me but I’ve continued to work hard and the goals are starting to come for me now. It was nice to bag a brace at the weekend; we performed well as a team to get a deserved win and a clean sheet, which was also nice.

“The main thing, of course, is that the team is winning. We have a run of three home games in the space of a week coming up and with how close this League is, positive results from these games can really move us into a strong position in the table.

“Our aim is the play-offs. We just missed out last season but if we continue performing as we have done lately, then we will be right in the mix again. One thing is certain; it’s going to be close right to the end, just as it was last year.

“These are exciting times for the club. The new pitch and facilities can really help take us forward in so many ways and it puts the club right at the heart of the local community, which can only be a positive thing.”

A busy week of home action starts on Wednesday evening when Falmouth Town provide the opposition. There is more Cornish opposition on Saturday with visit of Mousehole before the following Wednesday sees them lock horns with Melksham Town.
