Pitching In Southern League Premier Central outfit, Stratford Town, will be supporting Coventry and Warwickshire Age UK and Stratford on Avon’s Stepping Stones for their 2024 Christmas Campaign.
Commercial Manager Steven Burge said: “Small things that we easily take for granted can make a huge difference to other people. That is why we are asking our supporters to donate a warm hat, gloves, socks and toiletries to aid Stepping Stones – Stratford upon Avon. And if you have a spare or unwanted warm blanket that we can pass on to AGE UK – Coventry & Warwickshire, which they can give to an elderly person in need this Winter.”
Chairman, Jed McCrory, added: “I feel it's so important to support others less fortune throughout the year but during the festive season it somehow feels more important.
“I wanted to find a way of helping those of an age who may not be able to use their heating this winter due to the cost of living crisis and the governments’ decision to stop the majority of the winter fuel payments.
“The footfall at the football club continues to increase and the community spirit and people’s generosity never ceases to amaze me, so a huge thank you to all for supporting our community’.”
The campaign kicked off at the turn of the month with donations being collected on behalf of both organisations in the Bards Clubhouse every day of the week until 20th December.
