Throughout our four divisions clubs will be looking to step into Christmas on a winning note this weekend. There are some mouth-watering games ahead of what is a busy schedule ahead.
Here’s our pick of the action:
AFC TOTTON v SHOLING | PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE PREMIER SOUTH
The home side have the opportunity to close the gap on leaders, Merthyr Town, who don’t play this weekend. They have lost just once in their 17 League games so far, but face upwardly-mobile opponents who have their sights set on establishing themselves in the top half of the table. Last weekend’s 1-0 away win at Tiverton Town was AFC Totton’s five League triumph in a row, whilst Sholing have taken maximum points from their last two games.
STOURBRIDGE v AFC TELFORD UNITED | PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE PREMIER CENTRAL
This clash brings together two teams who are battling it out in the top five. Stourbridge go into the game on the back of a solid 3-0 win at Leiston in their last outing as part of a five-game unbeaten run that has included a few too many draws for their liking. Meanwhile AFC Telford United arrive three points and two places above them in the table. They are three League games unbeaten and will be keen to make amends for a heavy home reverse at the hands of the Glassboys earlier in the season. This one has all the ingredients to be a cracker.
EXMOUTH TOWN v EVESHAM UNITED | PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE DIVISION ONE SOUTH
This encounter pits second against third as both sides can reflect upon solid campaigns so far. The hosts were able to make a return to winning ways in their last outing courtesy of a dramatic stoppage time winner at Bishops Cleeve and they are hoping that it will be the start of a positive run of results through the festive period to maintain their challenge to the leaders. Meanwhile Evesham United sit three points behind them, they also had a 1-0 triumph last weekend as part of a run which has seen them lose just once in their last six League outings.
KIDLINGTON v BERKHAMSTED | PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE DIVISION ONE CENTRAL
The League leaders make a return to action for the first time in 11 days and they will be hoping to pick up from a run of four straight wins as they head to a Kidlington outfit who are looking to kick-start their season and begin a climb up the table. They are four games without a win and looking for a spark. For Berkhamsted they will be determined to hold top spot at Christmas with just three defeats from their opening 18 League games this term.
