Pitching In Southern League Premier South club, Poole Town, have this week parted company with manager, Steve Tully.
He arrived during the course of last season and transformed the club’s fortunes, but this term having made a bright start, they currently sit in the lower reaches of the table and a decision was made to go their separate ways.
“I would like to thank Poole Town FC for giving me the opportunity to manage this great club,” said Tully. “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here; there are so many good people involved throughout the club from top to bottom.
“The club has moved forward in leaps and bounds too from where it was when I joined. The transformation of the ground, the pitch, the social media coverage, the changing rooms, there is a lot of continuous hard work that the fans don’t see but I have witnessed.
“It has been an absolute pleasure to firstly starve off relegation and then to try and build the squad this season. Bringing in 13 new players, we were always going to have ups and downs, that’s why I believed it was a re-building season to then put us into a position to challenge in future years.
“In football, expectations can change very quickly and after our good start, expectations got higher.
“Obviously I am gutted about not seeing the project though, but I wish the club and players all the best for the future.
“Lastly, but by no means least, I would like to thank the fans for their amazing support that they have given throughout my time. It has been much appreciated.”
Saturday sees the Dolphins head to Hungerford Town who sit level on points with them.
