Leading scorer, Jamar Loza, believes that Leiston have now found their identity as they challenge for a place in the play-offs following a slow start to the campaign.
The 30 year-old has been a regular on the scoresheet this term with 19 goals to his name so far and has played his part in their current run of three successive victories amidst just one defeat from their last seven Pitching In Southern League Premier Central outings.
“Confidence is really high at the minute, for me and the team,” he told his club’s media “I’m scoring a lot, but obviously I’m really keen to score more.
“The team are playing well, so it goes good together me scoring goals and the team winning. It’s no good me scoring and the team not winning.
“During the second half of the season we must be aiming to get into those play-offs places. Obviously, it’s tight and we’re not far from looking down either, but our sights are set on that leading pack and at the moment we’re only three points off the top five.
“How we’ve been playing of late, we’ve established our identity now and the team is playing well together as a unit. Our belief in what we are doing is high and that is so important.
“We’re back at home on Saturday against a Redditch United side who are just a few points below us, and they too will have aspirations of making the play-offs, as they did at the end of last season.
“But it’s about us and what we do; we’ll be looking to impose our style and ensure that we can make home advantage count in order to get what would be a big three points for us and a fourth win in a row.
“Our focus will be firmly on the task in hand in what is such a tight and competitive League.”
