As we approach the end of February, there is plenty of intrigue across all four of our divisions.
Here is our pick of the weekend action:
DORCHESTER TOWN v WIMBORNE TOWN | PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE PREMIER SOUTH
This Dorset derby pits the hosts, who are looking to strengthen their position in the play-off places, against opponents who are on the back of two impressive home results this week as they look to pull away from the danger zone. The home team have lost only three of their 30 League outings so far and have won three of their last four games, coming from behind to win at Plymouth Parkway last weekend. Meanwhile Wimborne are fresh from beating neighbours, Poole Town, on Tuesday after holding leaders, Merthyr Town, to a 1-1 draw last weekend.
BEDFORD TOWN v KETTERING TOWN | PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE PREMIER CENTRAL
There is Friday night action for the leaders as they play host to third-place opponents who sit just three points below them. The home team have won three of their last four games, including a hard-earned 2-1 triumph at AFC Sudbury in their last outing. Meanwhile Kettering have also won three of their last four outings, including last weekend’s impressive 3-1 away success at Stourbridge, which means that they have scored three times in successive matches as they find their form once more.
MELKSHAM TOWN v BEMERTON HEATH HARLEQUINS | PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE DIVISION ONE SOUTH
There is a fascinating battle taking place to make the top five. Melksham Town are one of a number of teams just outside, vying to break into it, whilst Bemerton Heath Harlequins sit in fifth spot, a position they secured following last weekend’s emphatic 7-0 victory over Bristol Manor Farm, their sixth League game unbeaten. For the home side, they made a welcome return to winning ways in their last outing with a 2-1 victory over Larkhall Athletic having previously gone eight League games without a win.
BIGGLESWADE FC v REAL BEDFORD | PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE DIVISION ONE CENTRAL
This local derby has all the ingredients to be a fascinating encounter as the hosts look to keep in touch with the top five, whilst the visitors are eager to strengthen their position in top spot. Biggleswade FC are on an eight-game unbeaten League run, including victories in their last two outings against Welwyn Garden City and fellow play-off hopefuls, Thame United. The away team also arrive having won their last two games as part of a nine-game unbeaten League run.
