There’s plenty of great action to look forward to across our four divisions this weekend and with it being Non-League Day, here’s hoping that there will be plenty of supporters coming along to enjoy our games.
Here’s our pick of the action:
HAVANT & WATERLOOVILLE v GLOUCESTER CITY | PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE PREMIER SOUTH
This one pits hosts who are sitting just outside the play-off places and determined to move into the top five against opponents who are looking to strengthen their place amongst the leading pack. The home side were held to a 1-1 draw at Frome Town last weekend, their second draw in the last three games, whilst Gloucester returned to winning ways following two successive defeats by comfortably beating Hanwell Town by five goals to nil.
BEDFORD TOWN v STAMFORD | PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE PREMIER CENTRAL
It’s so close amongst the leading pack that we could have easily gone for a number of other games here, but this one sees the home side, unbeaten in their last five outings, lock horns with opponents who have the momentum of seven unbeaten, including four clean sheets from the last five games. Bedford Town have played some attractive football this season, whilst Stamford’s challenge has been built on being solid and resolute. As such it has all of the ingredients to be an intriguing encounter.
BEMERTON HEATH HARLEQUINS v EXMOUTH TOWN | PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE DIVISION ONE SOUTH
Another fascinating battle is in prospect here between hosts who moved into the top five on Tuesday evening following their 1-0 victory over Bishops Cleeve, their third triumph in a row, and opponents who have been amongst the front-runners for most of the season but are currently on a run of one win in the last four games. However, that victory came in their last outing courtesy of a stoppage time goal to beat Bristol Manor Farm, so that will give them good heart for what is sure to be a hard-fought encounter.
BERKHAMSTED v REAL BEDFORD | PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE DIVISION ONE CENTRAL
The top two battle it out here with the home side desperate not to lose any more ground on their opponents. Berkhamsted saw a five-game winning run come to a shuddering halt with a 3-1 home reverse at the hands of Beaconsfield Town on Tuesday evening. It leaves them three points behind Real Bedford having played two games more. For the visitors, they burst through the 100 League goals mark following their 5-0 victory over Northwood last weekend and have kept four clean sheets from their last five outings. This will be a tasty battle, that’s for sure.
Get yourself along to one of the many great non-League encounters taking place this weekend and sample the thrills and spills of what the game has to offer.
