The PST Sport Club of the Month Awards for April 2025 have been announced.
In the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central, the honour goes to Bedford Town.
The final month of the season commenced with a 1-1 home draw with Harborough Town as Ed Gyamfi’s early opener was cancelled out midway through the second half.
A hard-earned and dramatic 3-2 away triumph at Lowestoft Town followed. The struggling hosts grabbed two quickfire goals right at the end of the opening period to put them in the driving seat and it wasn’t until the final 20 minutes or so that the visitors were able to hit back when goals in quick succession from Tarrelle Whittaker and Ed Gyamfi levelled matters. A winning goal from Leon Lobjoit eventually arrived deep into stoppage time at the end.
Returning to home action, they took maximum points from a 2-1 victory over Stratford Town as Leon Lobjoit’s tenth minute opener was followed by a goal from Ed Panter on the 20-minute mark and whilst the visitors were able to pull one back in the second half, they were able to see out another three points to make a winning start to the Easter weekend.
They won by the same scoreline a few days later at Hitchin Town on Easter Monday. Ed Panter put them ahead only for the lead to be cancelled out at the start of the second half. Another important strike from top scorer, Leon Lobjoit, ultimately won the day with 15 minutes to go.
It left them needing a victory from the final game to clinch the title and on an afternoon of high pressure and high stakes, they managed to overcome the challenge of an in-form Stourbridge by two goals to nil with Ryan Blake and Jack Davies getting a goal in each half to signal much celebration as the club secured a second successive promotion.
Taking the accolade in the Pitching In Southern League Premier South is Havant & Waterloovile.
They edged the award on goal difference from Dorchester Town, with whom they were involved in a battle to secure the final available play-off spot.
The month began with a hard-earned 3-2 home victory over Swindon Supermarine in a game that went one way and then the other. An early goal from Callum Kealy set them on their way only for two goals from the visitors in the final ten minutes of the first half to turn things around. Leading scorer, Ryan Seager, wasted little time after the restart to restore parity and then went on to grab the winner in the final quarter-of-an-hour.
A 1-1 draw at Taunton Town followed as they responded to falling behind early in the second period with a leveller from Reuben Swann with just under 20 minutes remaining.
The Easter weekend began with a commanding 3-0 home triumph over Bracknell Town as George Milner-Smith set them on their way before Ryan Seager doubled the advantage late in the first half. Seager then sealed the win with another goal late on.
A couple of days later and Ryan Seager was at it again as he opened the scoring early on at Gosport Borough. The hosts managed to level matters pretty quickly but Seager went on to notch what proved to be the winning goal with 78 minutes on the clock.
It set up a final day where a third brace in a row from Ryan Seager earned them a 2-0 victory over Wimborne Town, but it ultimately wasn’t enough to earn them a place in the play-offs as they agonisingly missed out by the narrowest of margins.
Moving into the Pitching In Southern League Division One Central and it’s another award for Real Bedford.
The month started with a 4-1 away win at Aylesbury United. Archie Jones set them on their way in the opening exchanges before two goals from Joey Evans right on the stroke of half-time put them firmly in the driving seat. Ben Stevens added a fourth goal after the break and even though the hosts pulled one back late on, it was just mere consolation.
It set up a home encounter with Kings Langley which saw them clinch the title thanks to a hard-earned 1-0 win. The all-important goal came from the penalty spot as Joey Evans stayed cool to add to his tally against opponents who were battling for their lives.
With the title secured, they went to Leighton Town in their next game and secured another 4-1 success on the road. Drew Richardson opened the scoring only for the hosts to level within a minute, but second half strikes from Joey Evans, Ben Stevens and Archie Jones saw them to victory.
Two late goals earned them victory over AFC Dunstable on Easter Monday. Ben Stevens opened the scoring in the early exchanges of the second half, but it was cancelled out and the game looked like heading for a draw until Anthony Agemoh-Davies and Joey Evans found the net in the final couple of minutes to secure a 3-1 triumph.
Late goals were also the order of the day in the final game of the season when they fell behind at Thame United only for Joey Evans to restore parity with just over ten minutes to go and then bag the winner with 85 minutes on the clock.
Finally, in the Pitching In Southern League Division One South, the prize is claimed by Malvern Town.
The month commenced with a 3-0 home victory over Thatcham Town. Joe Tumelty set them on their way midway through the opening period before Sam Clark doubled the advantage with quarter-of-an-hour to go and Ryan Brunt added further gloss to the scoreline in stoppage time.
A battling 2-2 draw at Bristol Manor Farm followed in a game which saw them recover from falling two goals down within the opening 25 minutes. A goal from Lewis Spurrier just past the half-hour mark got them back in it as Jack Watts levelled matters late on following an impressive second half display.
Another 3-0 home triumph came against Westbury United with all three goals coming in the first half. Joe Bullock opened the scoring before Sam Clark doubled the lead and then Jack Watts found the net in stoppage time at the end of the half.
It was four second half goals that gave them a 4-0 triumph at Cinderford Town on Easter Monday. Harry Clark set them on their way and it was soon followed by a Jack Watts goal. With time running out, Joe Bullock weighed in with a third before Harry Clark rounded things off at the death with his second of the afternoon.
The final day of the regular season saw a play-off spot confirmed courtesy of a 4-1 victory over Willand Rovers. After falling behind early on, three quickfire goals just before the interval put them firmly in the driving seat as Jack Watts bagged a brace and Sam Clark grabbed the other. A Matt Macdonald effort on the hour rounded off the scoring.
It meant a place in the play-offs where they won 3-2 at Bishops Cleeve in the semi-final after extra-time. An entertaining game saw them take the lead through Sam Clark only to go in at the break 2-1 down. An equaliser from Jack Watts with 20 minutes to go took the game to extra-time where Charlie Johnson won it. The victory sent them into the final at Evesham United where they went on to slip to a single-goal defeat.
We congratulate the four winners:

Premier South – Havant & Waterlooville (2.600ppg)
