BRISTOL MANOR FARM | BAK TO THE FUTURE

Teenage front-runner stars as leaders are well beaten

It was a special afternoon for Bristol Manor Farm on Saturday as they went to Pitching In Southern League Division One South leaders, Malvern Town, and not only inflicted their first League defeat of the season, but did it by bagging five goals.

The see-saw encounter ended in a 5-3 victory for Will Justin’s young side as talented teenager, Brandon Bak, currently on loan from Weston super Mare, helped himself to two of the goals as he continues to build his reputation.

Bak hit the Farmy Army’s third goal to level the game up at 3-3 before rounding things off at the death with the fifth goal to seal the points.

“It’s always great to get a couple of goals, but the main thing here was getting the three points,” Bak told us. “We’ve been unlucky in recent weeks to not get the points that our performances have deserved, so it was nice to see us get the win that our performance warranted.

“To go to the League leaders and score five goals is impressive; it’s a chance for us to really kick-on now and build on the confidence from this to get more wins and more goals.

“It’s been well-documented about the amount of changes that have taken place in the playing and managerial staff over the summer, so for a whole new set of players and staff, it was always going to take time for us to gel together.

“But we are showing our trust in the process and from what I have seen so far, this team can go on and have a good season. There is plenty of good, young talent here who are capable of going head-to-head with anyone at this level, as Saturday proved.

“This is a competitive League where anyone can beat anyone on their day. We are working hard to get ourselves up there amongst the leading pack and I am looking to score as many goals as I can to help us achieve this.”

The 19 year-old cut his football teeth at Bristol City where he spent two years as a scholar and a year as a professional before moving on to Weston super Mare.
