The Southern League are devastated to hear of the passing of Halesowen Town FC President, Colin Brookes, at Tuesday evening’s Pitching In Southern League Premier Central game at Stratford Town.
A statement from the club reads:
“It’s with real sadness that we have to announce the passing of our President Colin Brookes.
“He was at the match last night and was sadly taken ill and did not recover despite all the efforts of Kyle Finn and James Kellerman’s mums, Stratford Town FC, our medical team and the local paramedics.
“Everyone who knew him would know that if he had chosen a way to go, it would have been watching his beloved Yeltz and a quick passing.
“Our thoughts are with Karen and the family and all their friends at this time.”
The thoughts and prayers of the Southern League are with Colin’s family and friends and everyone involved in Tuesday evening’s tragic event.
RIP Colin, a fantastic football man and a friend to many within the game.
