It’s now seven Pitching In Southern League Premier Central games unbeaten for AFC Sudbury after they came from behind to grab a late winner at high-flying Redditch United on Saturday.
Talented midfielder, Fin Corrigan, was in the right place, at the right time to win the game in the closing stages.
“It was a great win,” he told us. “We certainly had to dig deep for that one!
“I think both teams nullified each other over the course of the game. We had the same formations and went man-for-man, but we kept being busy and creating chances.
“It was nice to get on the end of one of the inviting balls into the danger zone and power a header home!
“We go into the festive period in a good mind set now and with plenty of momentum. We want to win as many games as we can and as a collective we are ready for any challenge that comes our way.”
Corrigan joined the club at the beginning of September from League rivals, Kettering Town.
“This season has been up-and-down for the club,” he admitted. “We’ve stuck together throughout, both the good and bad moments.
“We’ve been able to play some really exciting football at times and from a personal point of view, I have enjoyed it a lot.
“I’m learning all of the time; there is plenty of talent in this division to test myself against. It’s a physical League with teams who like to mix it up with some direct play and also getting it down on the deck.
“I just want to keep playing my part with goals, assists and my defensive duties. As a team we want to keep getting positive results and become a team that nobody wants to face.
“We’re going into the festive period in good form and hopefully we can continue to climb the table with plenty of points up for grabs over the weeks ahead as we go into the New Year.”
Next up is a home game against one of the teams they are chasing down, Bury Town, before they head to Needham Market for the first game of 2026.
