The action was enthralling across all four of our divisions on Saturday.
In the Premier South, leaders, Walton & Hersham, came from a goal down to win 3-1 at Havant & Waterlooville. Just behind them, Gloucester City battled out a 1-0 victory over Bracknell Town thanks to a goal from skipper, Keiran Thomas, midway through the second half.
Third-placed Poole Town had to settle for a share of the spoils from a 1-1 draw at local rivals, Dorchester Town, as Farnham Town scored three second half goals to overcome the challenge of Hanwell Town, who took a first half lead.
Making up the rest of the top five, Sholing secured a good 2-1 win at fellow play-off hopefuls, Gosport Borough.
Over in the Premier Central, a goal in each half condemned leaders, Spalding United, to a 2-0 loss at Needham Market, who are one place and one point off the top five. It means that the lead at the top is now down to one point as second-placed Harborough Town battled out a 1-0 victory over Worcester City with Terell Pennant getting the all-important goal.
In the battle of third against fourth, Quorn ran out 1-0 winners over Real Bedford thanks to a goal just before the break. Remaining fifth are Redditch United who secured a 2-o triumph over St. Ives Town.
Into Division One South and leaders, Frome Town, let a two-goal lead slip to draw 2-2 at Hartpury FC, whilst Malvern Town, in second place, went to Bashley and ended their winning run courtesy of a 2-0 victory. It also means that Malvern are now the only Southern League club to score in every game this season.
Third-placed Portishead Town played out a 1-1 draw at Bishops Cleeve, who are one place and two points out of the play-off zone. Winchester City were involved in a crazy game at Falmouth Town. Trailing 4-2 at the break, they turned things around to grab a 6-5 success. Shaftesbury stayed in the top five after winning 3-1 at Larkhall Athletic.
In Division One Central, leaders, Leighton Town, were pushed all of the way by fourth-placed Biggleswade FC, but emerged 1-0 victors. Behind them, Hitchin Town were triumphant under the Friday night lights at Enfield, winning 3-1.
There was a resounding 8-1 success for Biggleswade Town as they swept aside bottom club, AFC Dunstable, although they did have to come from behind to do it. Also amongst the goals were Thame United who thumped MK Irish 6-0 in a game which saw Louis Walsh display the X factor by hitting five of the goals.
