A half-time roasting from manager, Alex Salmon, did the trick for Enfield on Tuesday evening as they turned around a first half deficit to beat Barton Rovers 3-1 in the Pitching In Southern League Division One Central.
“It was not nice in the dressing room at half-time,” Salmon told his club’s media. “I’m not a lover of doing this kind of thing, if I’m being totally honest, but there are times when things need to be said and this was one of them.
“Sometimes you have to honest and let people know where they actually are rather than where they think they are.
“To be fair, the players reacted positively in the second half to turn the situation around. The performance after the break was much better; the lads did their jobs and we were able to back up what was a good point at Welwyn Garden City in our previous game with three points here.
“We’re learning about the teams in this division all of the time and now we have another tough test coming up on Saturday at AFC Dunstable.”
It was Enfield’s third win in their seven League games so far this season.
