It took Musa Ceesay just seven minutes to announce his arrival at Worcester City.
The signing of the powerful central midfielder, who has gained experience at this level with the likes of Redditch United and Halesowen Town, was announced by the club just over an hour before kick-off of their Pitching In Southern League Premier Central clash with Bury Town on Saturday and he wasted little time in making an impact as he opened the scoring early on.
“It was the perfect start; I could not have asked for better,” he told us. “This is an exciting new challenge for me at a big club who are well-respected in the game.
“I have been through many challenges in my career but to join a club like this with a big stadium and fan base means so much and I am looking forward to this next chapter.
“To score so early on gave me plenty of confidence and helped me to settle into things quickly. In the end we couldn’t win the game, but to get a late equaliser to make it 2-2 meant that we were able to add a point to our total and now we search for victory in the next game, which comes around very quickly.
“I’ve set myself targets that I want to achieve here, but I prefer to keep them to myself as I don't want to add extra pressure. What I can say is that I will be working as hard as I can to be successful here and help the club adapt to the demands of this new level.”
Ceesay will be back on familiar territory on Monday as Worcester City make the short trip to Halesowen Town in what is sure to be a hard-fought encounter.
